Oh hey!  I'm so glad you are here.  I'm the sucker for flowers and look what MFP just came out with...Small Flowers!  Mmmmm, flowers are the best.  These flowers were embossed on vellum and then colored with alcohol markers on the back side.  Sound easy?  You bet it is.  Like the rest of the sets this month, Small Flowers is without a sentiment.  I delved into my marvelous MFP stash and found the perfect script-y sentiment in Glad Glads.

If you are just joining the hop, you will want to go back to the beginning.  If not, cruise on over to see what Vickie has in store.  Here's the Design Team:
Thanks for stopping by!  This is the last day of the MFP Stamp Shop Blog Hop but  you still have a bit of time left for commenting.

Big Trees is the next featured set and it gives us wonderful foliage with which to work!  I chose the largest image, an evergreen of some sort!  I wanted it to stand there in all its glory so I designed in a clean and simple fashion.  (No surprise if you have been here before).  This set also has images only and no sentiments.  I pulled my sentiment from an older set called Now Showing.  A few gems and some patterned paper finish off my offering for today.

If you are just joining here, you will want to go back to the beginning of the hop.  If not, continue on for some more wonderful trees.  Let's get started !!  Here's the Design Team:

Today, we are featuring the new Sophia's outfits in a set called Paper Doll Sophia Let's Go!  With an adjusted hemline and a little creative "embroidery", I took Sophia to "Space . . . the Final Frontier" so that she can "boldly go where no man has gone before".  Of course, I had a little help from the MFP set called Space Fun, too!

We have more paper dolls!  Today, we get to introduce Sophia!  Isn't she lovely?  I have framed and hung Ms. Sophia on the wall.  Can you see the texture on my card?  Since Sophia comes with a couple outfits, she doesn't have any sentiments.  (There is only so much room in a 4" x 6" stamp set!).  I reached back to a previously released set called Tree Frogs for a sentiment to go with my picture idea.  Are you ready to see what the rest of the team has done?  If you are just joining here, you will want to go back to the start of the hop to see everything.

Let's get started !!  Here's the Design Team:

Friends No More (Insert Sad Face)

You may heard that Friends of Speedy TV challenge on MFPSpeedyTV is no longer.  It's a sad occasion for me as I have been on the team since October of 2011.  Don't be afraid, you will still be seeing my favorite MFP Stamp Shop images and new releases as well.  This "batty" card was for the last Friends of Speedy TV challenge to create a card featuring a "creature of the night".  I had to have a little fun with it!

This card with my cow peeking through was the the Friends of Speedy TV challenge to create a Tri-Fold card.  I opted for the tri-fold called Cami's Tri-fold.  It's not a difficult as you might think.  You should give it a try!  My card is secured closed with the ribbon and adds just a touch more fun!

Here you can see my tri-fold card open and see how I carried the caramel colored gingham from the outside to the inside of the card.  I just love this sentiment!!

This last card was from a Friends of Speedy TV challenge to create a card with spring colors.  Bright yellows and greens herald Spring for me.  You should have seen all my dandelions and now the buttercups that have spread like wildfire in my pasture!  This card I turned into a birthday card for one of my best friends.  As is customary with her, I wrote my message on a post it note so that she could use my card again!  Am I the only crafter who has friends who like this?

Thanks for stopping by!  More MFP Stamp Shop on the way, so stay tuned!

It's the last day of the March blog hop and here we are with some fun mushrooms.  I had a hoot coloring them and when I was finished, I couldn't resist adding a load of glitter!  Reddish-pinkish-salmon mushrooms deserve sparkle, don't they?  The mini set called Mushroom Selections has images only, so I snagged a sentiment from Amaryllis Definition.  The mention of sparkle was just perfect!  Thanks for coming by and I hope your day sparkles.

Let's finish up with the hop.    Here are the links for the Design Team:

Pirates?  It's no April Fools joke.  Oh yes!  It's Day 2 of pirate fun!!  This is my rendition of the Jolly Roger, made with the same wood grain designer paper from yesterday. It got such rave reviews that I couldn't resist.  This flag has oodles of dimension.  It's rumpled and crumpled with thick twine knotted through the eyelets.  Some of the dimensional adhesive is stacked three layers high.  There will be no regular envelope here.  Fun stuff!

Let's get on with the hop!  Here are the links for the Design Team

A Scor-Pal More Than One Score and a Pop-Up Card Tutorial

Hello Crafty Friends!  I'm back with April's More Than One Score challenge and a tutorial.  April's challenge has a theme of spring and/or flowers.  We have had an early spring this year and it has been abnormally warm and dry.  Many of our flowers and trees are blooming early and inspired my card today.  Today's card is a fun pop-up card*!
For this project, you will need:

  • Scor-Pal
  • Scor-Tape
  • Scor-Mat
  • 4 1/4" x 11" piece of paper for card base
  • 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" piece of acetate for pop-up tag
  • Craft knife
  • Ruler
  • Flower and word dies, leaf punch
  • Additional card stock for flower and sentiment
  • Liquid and dimensional adhesives
  • Embellishments as desired (ribbon and button)
  • Stamps and ink
Place the 4 1/4" x 11" piece of designer paper in the Scor-Pal with the 11" side of the paper against the top fence.  Score the paper at 1", 2 3/4", 3 3/4", 5 1/2", 7 1/4", 8 1/4" and 10".

Flip the designer paper over and find the scored line at 5 1/2".  With a ruler and a pencil, mark 5/8" from the top and bottom.
Insert your Scor-Mat into your Scor-Pal.  With your craft knife, trim away an opening between the two marks on the 5 1/2" score line.
Burnish, or crease, all of the scored lines you made in the first step.  You will see the base of the pop-up card starting to take shape.
Line the first and last 1" segments of the designer paper with Scor-Tape, as shown.
Create your pop-up tag on the 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" piece of acetate.  Card stock would also work for creating the pop-up tag.  Insert the tag through cut out opening from the top of the card base.
Remove the adhesive backing from the Scor-Tape from one of the 1" segments and secure your tag, making certain that your tag is centered in the opening and lined up with the bottom of the card base.  Remove the adhesive backing from the other 1" segment and secure it to the tag and the first 1" segment, creating the bottom of the pop-up card base.
The pop-up card will now sit upright and you can embellish the card base as desired.
Also, the pop-up card base folds down flat and will fit nicely into an envelope.
This concludes my Pop-Up card tutorial made especially for the April edition of the Scor-Pal More Than Once Score challenge.

Happy Scoring!
