Behind The Dragonfly

It's another Dare To Get Dirty challenge card today.  I can't reveal the challenge details, but I can tell you that I have seen pretty Pin after pretty Pin with washi tape behind negative die cuts.  It was just my turn today to have a go at it.

This makes the 7th card that I have made for the Dare To Get Dirty challenges.  I'm pretty excited about that even though I am behind the challenges at this point.  I'll end up with a load of lovely cards and have had a good time.

Tune in tomorrow for something a little different.  Have a great evening!

Sweet Peaches

More Dare To Get Dirty in my life.  I have yet to look at today's challenges to see what is in store, but I'm sure that there will be something to push me out of my comfort zone again.  This card was for Lydia's Dare To Get Dirty challenge.  While I can't share the details of the challenge, I can tell you that it really moved me out of my comfort zone.  I rarely water color for fear that I might be doing it wrong, but I really like how this one turned out!

Of course, I turned it into a clean and simple card.  That's just me!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a glorious finish to your weekend!

What's Moo?

DARE TO GET DIRTY 2017!!
Yep, that's right! It's time again for super fun challenges from tip top designers, the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Girls! Unless you are a Fan Club member, the details of the challenges are secret. My first card of the day is from a challenge by Sandee.

One of my favorite things to do with challenges like these is reach deep into my stash and use things that I haven't used in a while. For example, I haven't used this cow in ages. However, she's super cute. I took this card in a whimsical direction for fun.

Thanks for stopping by!

Details - Stamps: Country Charm (MFP); Paper: Whisper White, Black Licorice (MFT), Studio G dp; Ink: Tuxedo Black, Pool Party; Accessories: Fresh Cut Grass die (MFT), Flat Bottom Cloud die (MFT), Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders die, sponge dauber, wiggly eyes, liquid glue, paper snips, Copic Markers, stampin' dimensionals.

Ways To Warm It Up!

Oh, by the way, yesterday was a new Ways To Use It challenge with Lisa as our hostess! She challenged us to "Warm It Up"...so I did an emboss resist technique. I also used yellow and orange as warm colors.

This little PI girl has been hanging out on my desk all colored and trimmed out.  She has been waiting for just the right card and this one was it!

Here's the challenge, right here.  Consider it is "warm up" for the next few weeks worth of Dare To Get Dirty challenges on Splitcoaststampers.  If you are not a member, you will definitely want to become one.  It's such a super event!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Ways To Use Scoring

Hello and Happy Thursday!  I'm the hostess for today's Ways To Use It challenge on Splitcoaststampers. One of my favorite tools is my Scor-Pal.  I'm sure that is no surprise to anyone.  So I made a sweet little center step card for my challenge.

I cheated a bit, if you will, by using washi tape and stickers on the side and bottom panels.  I had to fuss around quite a bit with the colors I used in the rose to try and match it to the washi tape.  I love that mint color and don't have it readily available in my stash in ink form.

Thanks for stopping by!

Details - Stamps: Both Ways Blossom; Ink: Basic Gray, Going Gray, Blushing Bride, unknown mint; Paper: Whisper White, Going Gray; Accessories: Scor-Pal, Stickabilities stickers, Sakura Clear Star gel pen, water brush, stampin' dimensionals.

Scor-Pal July "More Than One Score" Challenge Mid-Month Tutorial

That's right!  We are in the middle of July and ready for the mid-month tutorial.  This month's Scor-Pal featured challenge is a "more than one score with a die cut" theme.    I'm hostessing and have made a fun slider box with die cuts on top and bottom.

Here's a picture of the slider box opened up just a bit so that you can see the box base.  The box measures 4" long by 2 3/4" wide by 1" deep.
For this project, you will need:
  • Scor-Pal
  • Scor-Tape
  • One 6 3/4" x 8" piece of card stock
  • One 4" x 8" piece of card stock
  • Paper snips
  • Top Note die cut
  • Additional dies for embellishing
  • Additional card stock for embellishing
  • Rhinestones for embellishing
  • Stamps
  • Ink
Place the 6 3/4" by 8" piece of card stock in the Scor-Pal with the 6 3/4" side along the fence.  Score at 1", 2", 4 3/4" and 5 3/4".
Turn card stock 90 degrees so that the 8" side is against the fence. Score at 1", 2", 6" and 7".
Trim away the three outer squares in each corner, as shown.
With paper snips, cut tabs on the 8" side of the card stock.  The picture below shows the tabs.
Burnish all of the score lines.
Adhere Scor-Tape to the outside of the box base.  Also, adhere Scor-Tape to the tabs as shown.
Remove adhesive backing and fold down the 6 3/4" sides.
Remove the adhesive backing and fold in the tabs on both sides
Remove the adhesive backing on the tabs and fold down the last two sides. Here is your box base.
Place the 4" x 8" piece of card stock in the Scor-Pal with the 8" side along the fence.  Score at 1", 3 3/4", 4 3/4" and 7 1/2".
Burnish all of the scores.
Line the 1/2" tab on the back with Scor-Tape.
Wrap the 4" x 8" scored card stock around the box base.  This now becomes the cover that the base slides into.
Use your die cuts to embellish your newly constructed slider box.
*Original tutorial modified to fit my own die cuts.

Thanks for reading all the way through this tutorial and I hope you give this More Than One Score challenge a try!

Using Stars

This week's Ways To Use It challenge is hostessed by Cathy and the theme is Stars. It should be a pretty amazing gallery!  I don't know why I didn't think of it, but I used a star shape for last week's Ways To Use It challenge as well.

For today's card, I wanted to be simple. I knew that wanted to make a baby card with this sweet Verve image. I also wanted to go with pink and gold. However, I couldn't find a glittery gold substance with which to fill my star shapes, so I opted for yellow.  I like how it turned out. Stickles are hard to contain in small areas though. I tried to scrape it into the lines with my craft knife, but a little escaped.

Thanks for stopping by!

Details - Stamps: Little Star Plain Jane (Verve); Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, DCWV dp; Ink: Tuxedo Black, Pink Pirouette; Accessories: Spellbinders Circle Nestabilities, sponge dauber, white satin ribbon, scor-tape, stampin' dimensionals, Yellow Stickles.
